gasmasks – one of my biggest inspirations taken to another level

DVICE is a blog powered by SciFi that gives us updates and news from the vast world of future tech and design. While browsing through the latest news my eyes just froze upon a picture. It an article about a project by designer Diddo Velema, a gasmask project! Just have a look at these honies:

Luxury Gasmasks by Diddo Velema

It didn’t say much in the article, but after a little research I found this little site: designergasmasks.com. Some really exciting and inspirational stuff indeed! ;D

insprational chic

Came across taow @ deviantART when he/she got a Daily Deviation on lady death II. It wan’t that piece that caught my eye though, it was this chic:

chic of 124 by taow @ deviantART

The deviation is called “chic of 124″ and it has one of those short but lovely stories behind it, taow writes: “on certain days i will get to see this woman on my way to work on the public bus. her dressing is rather chic and she is thin… really thin.”

first paid collab a bumpy road

When I joined deviantART I got to know a fellow Swede named Ulrika, the thing I found most interesting about her in the beginning was that she lived and had made a life for herself in England. As time went by I learned that she also was a great artist. I watched her deviations and was amazed every time she submitted new work. She has specialized in sculptures of all kinds – everything from plastic to ceramic! Here’s two lamps in an UV plastic material that I really really would like to own myself.

But to the point!
   A few weeks ago she contacted me with a request – she wanted to do a collaboration work with me for her 3D Design Designer Maker degree. She wanted me to make some images (photos and photomanipulations) to incorporate in sculprures. I was very excited about it right from the beginning and said yes to the proposal! Little did I know what a thing like this would demand out of me. And I think she was as suprised as me over the bumpy road we found ourselves on.
   It started out great and we were both sooo excited about the collaboration. She gave me some instructions as to the theme and style of what she wanted. And I interpreted that after my own mind and propably to what I wanted to make. I think I got out of line though and thought of every image as it’s own artwork of it’s own – since that’s what I always do when I create something, hehe. ^^;
   Turns out that they weren’t really what she had in mind. I guess we were both to blame, hehe. Maybe she gave some vague instructions and maybe I interpreted them in a way that wasn’t in line with what she had in mind. Anywhooo! These coming days I’ll be working to make some new images (I have until mid-next-week). I am still excited about the collaboration – even if it has turned out to be more work than pleasure, hehe. ^^;
   I might be posting some of the images that she couldn’t use on dA and I’ll give you a preview here too! ;D

pingback

Jud @ www.simprograms.com came upon this new blog of mine and showed interest in the wraith skin for The Sims 2 I created and made a post about it on the site! <D
   So as a thank you I thought I’d say a little something about Simprograms. I’ve gotten some great tips and learned a lot since I started exploring it, it’s great to have all that great stuff like news, programs, patches, tutorials and cheats in one place! For us who just are too lazy to browse thousands of Sim custom content sites - this is the best place I’ve come across, where all that stuff is gathered, commented and discussed! I am so subscribing to the feed! =D
   Right now I’m digging the The Sims – 100 Million Copies video. I would never had known that 100 million copies has been sold in The Sims franchise if I hadn’t read about it @ Simprograms!
